schedule conflict

Last night 12.05.07 I was supposed to be off from work and we(John & I) were at an acquaintance's house at around 1900 when we got a phone call from the hospital.As usual,we didn't answer the call as normally it would be a call to ask us for availability when they're short staff...Our new found acquaintances ( a doctor from a top hospital here in Seattle and her husband who is an accountant/engineer) even teased us by saying that it could be that we are suppose to be working this night and that they are already hunting us down for being "late".We were about to leave anyway and when i listened to my voicemail...to the shockest moment of my day..it was the charge nurse indeed telling us that we are in the schedule and hoping that we are already on our way...

Huh?This couldnt be true as I have a photocopy of our schedule and I am positive we are not on the schedule.I called her back though and had told her that if we are indeed on the schedule they have to give us time then as we need to change and get ready for work especially that we are not even home yet to begin with.And so upon reaching home,i checked my copy and I couldnt be wrong...both my Honey and i are not working and we are on the schedule for the 6th.So i called the charge nurse back anyway and told her that i have it in black and white a copy of the "original schedule" but yes we are willing to report to work but it's just that i felt then that i have to let them know that it was not our intention at all to cause them trouble by being latecomers and that it was not a neglect on our part at all!She said that yes no worry,she kinda figured out that the schedule was changed sometime when we were off.We were off for a week as we worked for almost a week too(read:6 nights with just 1 night off in between).

Upon reaching the hospital,they were all saying that i was smart enough to make a photocopy of the schedule instead of just transcribing my days of working in my planner or calendar as this is apparently not the first time it happened to their nurses.But the poor nurses then were helpless as they dont have a proof that their schedule was changed.Coz the manager apparently has this habit of changing the schedule that was already released!

Okay ...am done venting...I am just glad that it's always been my habit to make a copy of my schedule !

This is not to mention that of course I didnt sleep in preparation for work huh and then to really make it worse I had a busy night.But at least kept me up on my feet otherwise I would have taken a serious nap!(I NEVER SLEEP AT WORK BY THE WAY EVEN A NAP)

Let's talk about DISNEYWORLD

1. I miss DisneyWorld; the biggest Disney Park ever!?!I am closer to DisneyLand now in Califoenia so I am hoping to visit DisneyLand too.But it is a known fact that DisneyWorld in FL is the BIGGEST of all hence DISNEYWORLD and not DisneyLand.

2. All the rest of Disney Lands are Disney Land but there is only one DISNEYWORLD which is located in Orlando,FL.Therefore making it the grandest among all.Ive met one really really rich kid (who is a nurse in Yale by the way) and he's seen all Disney except the one they were then building in HongKong and he said DisneyWorld is the best!

3. Disney World in Florida encompasses 40 square miles, with four theme parks, two water parks, multiple resort hotels, mini-golf and regular golf courses, a campground, a shopping district, and lots more. It's like a town itself!

4. California has two parks whereas DisneyWorld has FOUR parks namely Magic Kingdom,EPCOT,MGM and Animal Kingdom that is not yet counting the resorts and the water parks huh?.When I lived in FL,there would be a time wherein I would be in DisneyWorld every month because of my Annual Pass which I got as one of my privilege for being a Florida resident.

5. Floridians get discounted tickets anyway whether you get the single day tickets or the seasonal or annual pass.That is why,I still havent given up my FL driver's license.

6. Therefore,I am still a Floridian.I am still hoping I could go to FL anytime for a quick visit but mainly to grab my stuff from the storage and to pay my Aunt a visit as well aside from going to Disneyworld of course ha ha ha.

7. Shopping wise may be expensive but you will find all sorts of Disney stuff that you wont find anywhere else even in Disney stores at the malls so it is all worth buying those Disney memorabilia and souvenirs.

8. And what else could be more fun than the photo opportunities with your favorite Disney stars.I remember that at my age,it is no surprising not to know the newest characters anymore,but I still didnt miss those photo opportunities he he he.

9. My favorite ride is the Tower of Terror in MGM Studios.That is one full of fun ride.

10. I am no roller coaster fanatic coz I believe I am scared but I did try the Aerosmith roller coaster ride anyway and well at least now Ive got one story to tell that I had done roller coaster.

11. And the coolest thing ever are the 3D's and I believe they have the 4D shows now..I will never forget my 1st time with "Honey,I shrunk the audience" and "the Bug's Life".It was hillarious!

12. And did you ever heard of the ride "Soarin'" from EPCOT?Ha ha ha...That was so amazing!I wanna mention that the Empire State Building had a similar some sort of a ride and I got bored with what they have ha ha ha....(But the ride was not their main attraction anyway in fairness to Empire State as I do love NY too!)

13. Whew..these are all just reminiscing as I am now too far from my once frequent hang out place although now still my favorite place to be.

I am new when it comes to baking and am glad to say that I made my very first attempt to bake a simple chocolate cake a few weeks ago and after that I found myself buying baking pans and other baking essentials plus a recipe book for cakes/bars.I never thought of myself doing this stuff as I am not really a "kitchen" person.But not anymore.For now,I will settle for the simple ones till I get the hang of it.My eventual wish is to learn how to do a "Black Forest Cake".

So far,for the past few weeks I had baked brownies,banana nut bread and pumpkin spice bread and am happy with the results!My Honey and Aubrey are glad too that I am spending some time in the kitchen.They seem to like it that I am learning and trying my very best to bake so I can serve them snacks/desserts I personally made.

For tonight,I had made a ♦Cinnabon Coffee Cake♦ pictured above.Too bad I didnt had a picture of the very first brownies I made coz I was really excited then ha ha ha!

I'm making a comeback entry.I was away from Thursday Thirteen since January 2007 but Ive been in touch with a lot of Thirteeners by reading their blogs...Anyway,here's my entry for now and I will try to be an active participant again...Mwah!!!

Thirteen Things I have to do/had done to lose weight

1. I have to cut down on my rice intake....I already did but I am back on my usual intake of >1 cup per meal..

2. I already quit drinking sodas ; I drink reduced fat milk

3. I have to go to the gym regularly like i used to which used to be 3 to 4x a week.

4. I have to resist chocolates!!!!

5. I have to cut down on my coffee intake even if I only drink coffee @ work.I only work 3x a week yet i drink 2 to 3 cups of coffee while @ work...that doesnt make any sense I know...

6. I no longer eat the "skin" of chicken meat...may be the yummiest part especially if it's fried but already a NO NO to me...

7. I have to snack on fruits and yogurt instead of chips and pasta.

8. I am trying to snack on apple..trying hard..am not a fan of apple but this is one fruit that's easily available everywhere and besides I am beginning to love it actually..

9. I have to eat vegetables I guess more than meat...

10. I have to use vegetable oil I think as my cooking oil...

11. I have to drink water..sadly,i don't drink water everyday; I just realized.

12. I have to start using my exercise ball again @ home aside from my workout at the gym.

13. I dont have to say quit smoking nor drinking coz I dont do either of these anyway but I just thought I'd include this as my 13th

Am just so excited to receive this letter from school telling me that my daughter's teacher had chosen her to be the recipient of an award for being an outstanding student that she is and that they are looking forward that I'd be able to surprise her by joining them in giving her the award on the 17th of this month.I am extremely happy and excited about this because even if this is not the 1st time she's gonna be getting an award(she was valedictorian or highest honors in kindergarten),this is actually the 1st time she's attending school here in the US.Although I've got no worries about her transition from schooling in the Philippines to here,I certainly am not expecting much but just good grades which she always gets.

Therefore,this is a merry moment for both of us.Yehey!I will definitely attend the recognition on the 17th.I will be getting off from work at that time from 3 consecutive 12 hour night shift but it will be worth it...I am so proud of you my dear child.Keep up the good work.You certainly deserve the BEST.

BTW, Aubrey is currently in 4th grade.

"Desperate Housewives"...Is this funny or what?!?

I have never seen a single episode of this show but so much had been written in the blogging world about this particular episode of the now very controversial "Desperate Housewives".I am thinking..they're really desperate over publicity?!!...But whatever their intentions were..whether to be funny or humurous or whatever..let's just all respect each other's opinions or feelings towards it.Let it out!Laugh it out if you feel like laughing it out...Shrug your shoulders if you feel like doing so...But I would like to emphasize ONE reality here!!!That Filipino Medical Professionals are all over the world!And WE are the most sought after in our profession cause our clients (patients) believe that we are the most compassionate in this field.I am confident that any of you reading this and hearing this whole controversy will indeed agree that Filipino Medical Professionals ( & everyone in the medical field actually) are worth the respect and trust of every individual....."I guarantee too that I being a nurse (a filipina nurse) can make your hospital stay less stressful by taking care of you as a holistic being and no matter what... will always treat you with utmost compassion and respect"

Today marks my 1st official work day in Seattle.And I started my morning by preparing for my hospital orientation. And was greeted with heavy rains.

I had switched to another company which means I am working with a different recruiter.And this time around,I have a male recruiter;his assistant is also a male plus the one who handles the documents in compliance apparently to "JCAHO" is another male buddy!~Whew~ it was a wholla different working with these male buddies as none of them gave me the specifics to my orientation day!I knew it is gonna be today but as to WHERE! And WHAT TIME and even a contact person from the facility...I had no clue!

But being a " no longer a novice" when it comes to traveling as a nurse,my honey and me showed up there @ 0800!!!Went to Human Resource and found our way around!That's what talking is for:asking your way around till you get the right person to show you the way!

But but but! I gotta give these guys a credit though for finding us an assignment in less than two weeks.Oh yes!in less than two weeks counting from the day we submitted our application on-line mind you!So aren't they fast and they even gave us a very irresistable and lucrative offer *wink* .

Anyway,we had a quiet celebration of Aubrey's 9th bday with cousins (my cousins! thus her aunties ha ha ha).We started the day @ Point Defiance Zoo.They had fun I think then later on we filled our stomach's desire by eating @ Rainforest Cafe:my favorite restaurant!!!So enjoy the pics.There's a big reason as to why she opted for a simple quiet bday celebration though....

I think it's about time for me to blog about someone who is making me happy.I had met him summer of '03 and he had become a good friend of mine.

That friendship had blossomed into something which he called "something beautiful".Days had passed by...memories spent together...laughters were shared...

He once had told me how "Familiarity brings comfort"...His presence had became somewhat a comfort zone for me.Whenever he is around I know I am safe and sound.

First time I had felt that I am being loved...Everything came so natural and true...Feelings were not forced...and most of all..there were no pretentions but only good intentions.

We took every single day as one precious day of being together a day @ a time.Now I realized that every single day since then were spent never without each other.Every day since then is a day spent with this man who loves me dear and whom I love so much with each passing day.

I love him dear.He loves me so true.I can tell not by the words he'd tell me but by the way he takes care of me and the way he enjoys every single moment with me.We are each other's best friends.

He'd speak up for me when others take advantage of me.When there's no one else who'd listen...he was there to comfort me.When things get rough..he'd enlighten my mind and cheer me up.He is unhappy when I frown but his beautiful eyes would sparkle everytime he sees me smile.He had brought out the best in me.He always believe in me.He trust me.And for many more other reasons,to which I could go on and on...it will all end up with one thing...I had found the man for me...And am such a lucky woman for he loves me so...We call it "destiny".

What we have is not so perfect but what we have is beautiful...and true...and forever...it is bounded not only by love but with trust and faith that together we will stand the test of time...

We have had some pains and trials..but those had not put us down..they had become the building blocks of how strong we are right now.Those thorns are the realization that we can't be without each other.They are what I consider sweet silent prick to my heart that tells me to be strong and hold on tight.Through all of these, he had always been by my side...He is the sweetest thing that reminds myself of the specialness of my existence and being.

Thank you for being your only one, Honey.Thank you for loving me.Thank you for staying by my side.Thank you for being true.

Another day, another work to another State

I am not quite sure if I was able to blog about my big move from Florida to Washington but I sure do remember that I blogged about me processing my RN license for the said state.

To shorten my long story,here I am now in Washington State.Another state,another hospital and another adventure.New friends...new apartment...but same old job of ...being a NURSE!

This hospital won't be one of my favorites for a lot of reasons.Reasons I wouldnt like to discuss...I dont even wanna think about it nor go into detail here as I know that for some people,it may be just some silly reason but it matters to me...

But however if I am to talk about the State of Washington,I really like it here.And to prove it,I am staying put for now.My move from Florida to here is my second biggest move so far.( I still consider my move from Philippines to U.S. as my biggest one even if I traveled then with just one bag of luggage).ANd hey,I think it's about time for me to slow down and stay where I am and enjoy....Nah,actually there should be more beyond than enjoying because really i need to settle down in one place and start having a place I can call "my own sweet space"....

So am working on it!It is hard but I know I will go through this.

The past few months had been tough for me.There was a time when I thought things might not turn out well;I felt like things were not in its proper place where they were suppose to be;Several things that needed to be done yet left undone and so on and on and on.

In these moments of hardship and trials,I try to stay strong and on top of everything.Not by myself but with the help of prayers.For I know that God wont give me something I couldnt bear.There are a lot of things in life that are actually blessings but they come in the form of trials and pain and hardship.What seemed to be heartache at the beginning are actually the key to ones long-search for serenity.The real answers to our prayers may not be what we really had asked for but eventually, trust in God that He knows whats best.

Count your blessings...You've got plenty!I count mine.No matter how few it may seem to somebody,I still am blessed.My blessings are my blessings.Share your blessings,too.I dont have to say how I share mine but I do.

Listen...to your heart and to your instincts...Your instinct is your inner soul!At least for me,it is...

Learn how to forgive.It is in forgiving that you will learn how to forgive yourself...

Learn how to forget...This one may sound easy just as easy as I am typing it but it is hard.I am in the learning process...And everything takes time..Take it easy.Give me time.It will come.

It's almost just a month away till my current travel assignment ends and I am still at a lost as to where my next assignment would be...I am working on my RN licensure endorsement application for the state of Washington.Hopefully,i will be able to mail my application this week.

My patient told me friday night that his bed was broken.

"What's wrong with your bed?" I said.

"I was watching TV earlier when all of a sudden,the head part of my bed slowly went down flat on its own" he said....silence..."I wasnt touching anything,it just went flat and now its broken" he added...

I had goosebumps all over....

I had a patient two nights ago before I had my day off who was very sick....He always sleeps with his bed FLAT!That's how he sleeps he once told me!

As Ive said,he was very sick.End stage disease I wont disclose.

I went to the computer and found out that that patient who was in that room expired that morning...

End of story..may his soul rest in peace.....

This is a late entry about a dog show that Ive seen about two weeks ago.It was January 18 to be exact.It was my first time ever to attend a dog show and I had fun.I was mesmerized with all the pure breed dogs in the ring.All of them were so graceful and just a picture of the perfect one!Gorgeous Coats,Sparkling black eyes!Everyone is just perfectly created!They are all elegant and adorable!Such precious dogs.

I am a Shih Tzu Mom of course so naturally, I am a fan of the breed.But the chinese crested caught my eye!They are so unique and pretty.Most especially the hairless one.I dont know how popular this breed is but Ive seen it in Animal Planet and since then,from time to time,i would be looking at pictures of this breed on the internet.There was a time I would be visiting the websites of the breeders for the said breed.I like their personality that's why.I even thought of buying one!

Next one that caught my eye was the tiny maltese!Oh how adorable!I never thought they can be that lovely and adorable in person.The maltese dogs that Ive seen in person are usually sporting a puppy-cut look and I would say that even if they are cute irregardless of the cut,still i was amazed when i saw the maltese show dogs!I took a lot of pics! They look so angelic!Just like those that you see in the books about MAltese!I am thinking of getting one.He he he.Oh yes,i wanna have another breed in the house!And your guess is right!It could be maltese or chinese crested.But i will wait for the right pup!No rush!

Hello fellow thirteeners,i am finally back and i am making a little bit update about me for my comeback entry.Feel free by the way to check out my previous entry which features some of my photos from my vacation!happy thursday!

Thirteen Updates about Kaye

1. I had a haircut!A short one!From a waist level hair to a shoulder level hair!What a big jump!I would say that I am not happy with my hair not because of the length but because of its over all appearance.I had a what they call "hair rebonding" when i was in the Philippines but it didnt turn out as good as the first time i had it done.I should have just left my long hair alone....tsk tsk tsk...but its been all done and i have to deal with it.I am thinking of having it fixed but HOW?

2. I went home last December 14 to attend my sister's Dec 18 wedding and i had a great time while I was there.I had to forget about diet.I forgot about exercise.I didnt really forget but I just pretended that I didnt had the time?!?I ate a lot!!It was really a whole lot of fatty,greasy and oily foods!All the sweets and oh everything that made me 6 lbs heavier when I came back here.(Note that I came back here in the US on the 27th so that means I only stayed there for about two weeks).

3. And while I was there in the Philippines,the whole family went to Pangasinan,in the islands.There was this creepy incident that happened to me while we were walking along a dark street during that cold first night,that night that we arrived!It was so creepy it followed me in my sleep that id rather not talk about it anymore especially here in my blog!Coz this aint no creepy and horror blog.He he he.

4. I was with my other puppy Tink when I went home.And I was so surprised that Philippines is much more strict when it comes to dogs.They require more paperwork upon arrival at the airport.And I found out that they are even more strict when it comes to getting your dog out of the Philippines!Huh?But of course,i was prepared!I was good in doing my assignment.

5. Ok if I was good in doing my paperwork assignment for Tink,I failed when it comes to my own preparation for my OWN departure.At the time of my departure,I didnt had enough money left to pay for the airport fees!I only remembered the P550(philippine pesos or $10)that I am suppose to pay at the immigration but I oh so forgot about the Philippine travel tax ek ek!And i only had just the exact amount of money that will cover the immigration fees and no more for the travel tax!And what is worse during this situation than finding an atm machoine that is not working????Ha ha ha.Thanks to a good samaritan who helped me in every way that he can!He was an airport employee and I tried to remember his name but it slipped my mind!

6. And of course as a result of situation #5,i almost missed my flight.Literally,the plane was waiting for me i think coz security was escorting me on my way to the gate with his radio in one hand telling the other person on the other end that the last passenger is already on her way!Ha ha ha!What a scene.I was the last passenger they had to seat...My elite status didnt do me any good this time coz usually I would board first but not if you're late in paying your dues i guess...

7. My first few days of coming back here,i was so tired!Ive never been tired like that!FOr real!I had to cancel myself for my first day of work coz i really couldnt make it!My fault actually,coz i put myself on the schedule the following day after arriving here!So it was no good at all for me to do that but i thought i could handle it but i guess not!But the bad thing there is that I had to make up some excuses for not coming to work.I didnt pretend to be sick but rather I told them that my flight was a few hours delayed from Japan!A little bit of lie there.

8. As Ive mentioned above,I brought Tink with me and she was left behind with Rider,my daughter's dog.It's not that I didnt want to coz i know that she will be in good hands or actually she will be in better hands coz there's practically more hands there who will take good care of her.So that's gonna be her temporary home for a while...she will come and join me here again someday of course..maybe soon coz i really miss that Tink of mine.My very playful Tink.She is such a treasure full of character.She is soo funny.I miss her following me around the house and just being beside me fooling and goofing around.But that is okay,she is giving joy to my family in the Philippines right now.I am happily sharing her with them!

9. Aubrey on the other hand had grown so tall and pretty I couldnt believe my eyes!And she is so fond of the dogs too!Our household has a total of 3 right now.Fishnet was the first one who belongs to my sister,April.Next one was Rider whom i bought for my daughter.And the 3rd of course is Tink!My daughter actually asked me to leave Tink behind!She is also a very responsible dog owner at her age ( she is 8 ) as she takes part in bathing the dogs.She feeds them..she makes sure they've got water handy at all times.She plays with them too a lot!

10. I am still in a mixed state of mind as to where to go for my next assignment.There are just a lot of things i have to do my mind is overflowing with everything.But i will do one thing at a time as always of course.During that two week stay in the Philippines,i has some sort of conflict with my bills.My car payment most especially.But I got that one settled already.They waived the late payment fee that they charged me coz the fault was not clearly on my side huh?But with regards to other billing matters,that has to take its natural course...i had about two credit cards that i forgot to pay.I didnt forget i guess but because of the change in timezones,i was delayed for a day or two to both of them.( i had been paying my bills online that is why ever since i started travelling ).

11 . Tax season is coming!I made a promise to myself to do it the earliest possible time for me this year!Last year was the worst coz i filed it last minute.Yes,mine was done April 15!Yes April 15 last day!yehey!

12. I have to mention that I am so disgusted and frustrated about the community where I am house right now!This is a nice place no doubt about that but last Monday morning,January 15..a young woman was found dead in the jacuzzi of this community!We are overly concern of course.Coz it happened right here inside the premises.There is clearly a question about security coz this is suppose to be "gated" community but sure there is a gate...that is non-functional.It's not because it is old or something.Coz when i moved in here,i was seeing signs everywhere for old residents to turn in their old cards in replacement for a new one.That is suppose to be the gate access card.Ive got mine but i never use it yet!No one here had ever used theirs yet coz the gates are not yet operational.Media was feasting on this incident of course.Especially after residents made some shocking revelations on TV.I have no idea what those revelations are coz i missed that on tv coz i had to go to work at that time.But as expected as a result of this unfortunate and sad event,the gates will be fully operational starting Friday.Whew!And oh by the way,aparently the management of this complex told the media to "get off the property" when they were being asked for an interview i believe?!?

13. I want another dog!I am so impressed with Rider that i am thinking of getting another shih tzu from his breeder.Especially after meeting them and their dogs..the more that i feel like i wanna have a female shih tzu from them.They do not just breed dogs but they mainly show them.I actually went to a dog show today and i think i am gonna enjoy dog shows.If those handlers can do it,why cant i?I have a few pictures from the dog show by the way that i will upload and share here sometime in the next few days maybe?

After such a long time and after being away from the blogging world for the longest time now,i am finally back.Same old me but now in a different zip code again! Yes!That's right!I moved again and my new zip code is 34119!It's in Naples,FL.The best place to be @ this time.I was here since last week of November lasy year!And prior to that,my previous travel assignment was in Hartford,CT.I never mentioned it all this time here in my blog while I was at that particular assignment simply because my start seemed not right and well.

There was not much to say except for the fact that I was there when I acquired my two precious pups!Both from New York so I most of the times would blog about my dogs here!But to make my long story short about not really loving my stay in Hartford,I would say that i ended up loving them actually!And i must say that I was well loved too by them.Coz they threw a sort of a farewell party for me,mind you!So,it was all for the best!But as a traveler,i had to move on and they knew that!Ive gained another set of friends whom I will always treasure.My manager,Cheryl who was so good in treating her travelers.She was the only manager who gave me a tap on my shoulder for working well with her staff and for taking oh so well with the patients.I can still vividly recall her telling me: "i want you to know that my staff love working with you.They love following you.And they love the fact that you are very good when it comes to patient care".She was just like my very first manager in MSMC(Mt Sinai Medical Center) and her name is Julie!They are both sweet and nice!

So much had happened that it's been a year now that I had been traveling as a nurse and I really had learned a lot doing this.I have no regrets doing this at all.Except that i cant keep track of the many friends i am meeting!

Upon signing in to my blogger account,not only did i realize that i had been away for so long but that blogger had change for the better.New look and feel.More features and it's merged with a google account i see.I remember trying out gmail in the past but it didnt work out.Coz i am afraid i might miss some important emails.Ive been using my yahoo email for the longest now.And it's keeping me in touch with everyone.But as always,am always open for any change.So am trying out my gmail account for a change.Im hoping i can keep up with two email addresses!

So to catch up with all the not so latest news and happenings about me,here goes:

Last December 14,I went home ( Philippines) to attend my sister's wedding.Yes,that was the primary reason why i went home and of course,to see and bee with my daughter,Aubrey!The wedding was great!Yours truly was the maid of honor of course!And while I was there,my mom received a text message from one of my old classmates way back when I was in high school inviting me for a high school reunion.I really would have love to come but i wasnt available at their given date because i didnt realize that my sister's wedding was a three part celebration altogether.And one fell on the said reunion date.The only bad thing is that i didnt even get the chance to reply to the text message even just to inform them i couldnt come.But I would like to thank them for inviting me really!But anyhow,I am going home again on March so maybe a sort of mini reunion wont hurt!?!Coz i really enjoy watching their reunion pictures on friendster!Hey,paging my classmates!!!!

Also,i would like to mention here that I went home with one of furry companion.Who else but my very playful Tink!Yes,she went home with me!She attended my sister's wedding too.All dressed up in her light brown velvet gown!Huh?And she was just a star!All with the rest of our dogs of course!I wanna mention that Rider is truly a wonderful dog.He is really a show dog!Very elegant!And he is so classy and very manly or kingly or whatever.That dog is really worth all the way down to the last cent I paid for him to be my daughter's own dog!His pedigree is very impressive as well.All the way up to his great grandparents are all champions!Very seldom you would find a dog like him!His kind is not the kind that you would see here in the pet stores!His color is very rare.White with a rich mahogany red as his body's accent!Whew!I was truly delighted!Thank you very much to such reputable shih tzu breeders,Allecs and Henson for entrusting us with Rider.They are one of the not so many(you can count them in your fingers) reputable shih tzu breeders in the Philippines.I also took the time to visit them.And all the more that I was impressed with the way they take care of their dogs!I would like to mention that even the dog shampoo,conditioner,whitening shampoo,leave on moisturizer and milky spray that I bought from them(the ones that they use on their dogs)are so far the best!Far far better than the brands that they sell here in the U.S.I believe that those products are from Thailand!So,from now on,even if I have to order it all the way from Asia,I wouldnt mind.They're the best kind you can ever use on your dog!And if you worry about the price...it's all just the same actually but for a better product...why not!!!

My sister's dog,Fishnet on the other hand is the funny one!He makes us all laugh with all his funny antics!He may not be a show dog just like my Tink but he is one adorable dog!I was teasing that dog actually because he is obese!Ha ha ha! I couldnt stand carrying him.And oh i have to say that he loves my dear Tink so much!@!

Okay,the sad part of the story here is that Tink was left behind in the Philippines okay!Nyay!She was such a wonderful delight that my daughter asked me to leave her behind!i couldnt say no why not!Coz I am going back in March remember!ha ha ha!I treasure my Tink a lot even if i bought her from a pet shop because she is my first puppy!I am used to her already and she is used to me already.

A break from dogs...seriously speaking...I am getting tired of travelling.I think I am almost ready to settle down again IN ONE PLACE!Where!?! That's a good and BIG question....

And so that would be the next reason why I might be away for a while again from the blogging atmosphere!And hopefully,my next zip code would be my HOME!

Hello everyone,

I am so happy to introduce Rider.He is a male shih tzu.I am in the process of buying him for my daughter Aubrey.My baby wanted to have a dog which she can call her own and so we had been searching for one.They went to the breeder's house somewhere in Manila and my mom and sister were so impressed with the kind and quality of dogs that they have.They do not only breed but they show dogs as well.All the dogs in the house are showdogs with champion titles even!!!Their pedigrees are soo impressive!

This particular dog Rider actually is already being trained to be a show dog!His parents are both Champions as well as his Grandparents!All of these factors though really didnt matter for Aubrey coz she doesnt understand these champion titles yet but she really loves this Rider ,period.They've already met in person and Aubrey is positively sure she wants Rider!My daughter's got a good taste huh?And which mom can resist such a good choice from her daughter?...See you soon Rider!

Thirteen Things I love about My Shih Tzus

1. They are happy to oblige whenever I want to snuggle them especially after their baths.They actually love to sleep having me within their eyesight.And they position themselves to sleep at the closest distance they could ever possibly get.

2. They don't take up much room.They are so comfortably small(6.5 lbs and 4.8 lbs respectively).They can easily share a seat with me.

3. Exercise?--- What's that?Unlike big dogs,their idea of a good workout is playing with a ball or doggie toys inside the house...But I would take them out for a walk everyday of course!

4. Lots of X's and O's --- they are not hesitant to show their affection to people --especially to me.They would greet everybody and they are so friendly,everyone we meet tends to greet me and ask me about them.

5. They can amuse themselves.They love me and would follow me around the house but they dont get bent out of shape if Im not paying them attention.

6. They are ideal for apartment or condominium life.

7. They dont shed!

8. They have adaptable bathroom manners...They can do pee-pad or outdoors.They know how to give me a signal if they need to do their "business" while we are out together.

9. My Tink doesn't bark(1st time I ever heard her bark was last Sunday,this is no joke!) and my Koda does bark but not a lot.So I have one who can be a good watchdog!And i really dont mind if they would bark coz they are dogs!

10. They have relatively few health problems.They are not picky eaters,too!I feed then the Eukanuba Puppy Food for Small Breeds

11. They are so intelligent!With the help of a puppy training class thru PetSmart(wherein Tink and I are currently attending a class every Wednesday @ 10am),she now knows SIT, DOWN, LEAVE IT, and STAY!Yehey! And I am applying everything that I am learning with Koda,he too knows how to sit and down now.

12. They really keep me company...

13. I love their coat and I just love their personality!My Koda is a rare solid chocolate shih tzu.While Tink is a tricolor.

Ive changed my mind about posting my entry for Thursday Thirteen today and instead decided on doing some housechores instead.I did laundry as usual, a lot of cleaning inside the apartment and of course,I gave Tink a good and refreshing bath so we could play and cuddle each other all through out the day.

And...I cooked spaghetti..my way!I dont really cook but I do sometimes...

I am waiting for pictures of my daughter Aubrey that my mom will send me hopefully this week in the mail.Cant wait for the said pictures which are studio pictures by the way.My baby is growing up so fast I couldnt believe how time flies.I realized that she is now on her 3rd grade in the same school (Siena College,QC) where I graduated many many years ago.I was the same age when we moved into the neighborhood where I grew up.

I am looking forward to getting her here for good next year after the current school year ends.School calendar in the Philippines starts at June and ends March the following year so she will finish her 3rd grade back home March of 2007.I am really excited about that.

We always have so much fun everytime she comes here for a visit.She's been here twice already actually in 2004 and 2005.I actually have pictures of our trip to Orlando posted in my sidebar under Pretty Pictures:the second gallery works in progress so feel free to check them out by clicking the icon *wink*

Introducing Koda

Meet my Koda..He is going to be my second shih tzu.A male one this time.Before I had Tink,I was looking and wanting a tricolor puppy that's why I fell in love with *tink* the first time I saw her.

But as the saying goes: " Shih Tzus are like potato chips,you can't have just one"..And this time around I patiently searched again on the net.And again,as before,I know what I like.For my second one,I decided Im gonna have a solid color shih tzu.And isn't it that everyone loves "chocolates"?So why not a chocolate colored shih tzu for me right?

Yay!And voila,after searching and exchanging emails with a lot of breeders...I even talked to at least three breeders on the phone I think.So anyway,after talking to "Rick",I knew that "this one's the chocolate for me".He interviewed me too by the way,making sure that his baby will have a wonderful and loving home ahead.And among the puppies that he has on his website,there were two of them that caught my eye.One named "Bacca" and one "Darien".Both are chocolates.Bacca is solid chocolate while Darien is dark chocolate.My heart really went out for the solid chocolate by the name of "Bacca" although brother Darien is just as cute really...(Yes really they are both so cute.)They were born July 28,2006 and wont be ready to go home till after Sept 22 which is today actually.And so I was sent out a contract thru email which I then printed out then signed and mailed it priority mail to the breeder.They are located in New York by the way.Of course,I also put up a downpayment for him.Woof!

I am gonna name him ::Koda::.This is from the name of the baby bear character in the Disney Movie "Brother Bear".This is a very good movie by the way.Most important significant here is that Aubrey loves this movie so much she probably watched this movie a hundred times.She couldnt forget how cute Koda was and she just loves the character Koda so much.Plus I got so fond of the Koda character in the movie too.

So there goes the story about Koda and why he's gonna be named such.And I will pick him up on October 7 by the way.Yehey!Am so excited.

P.S. *Tink* of course is after Tinkerbell,my own favorite character.

This is *tink* with her new dress.Her 1st dress.This was taken after I brought her for her grooming session at PetSmart last Saturday Sept 16.That was her first trip to the store as well and we had so much fun.So much fun that I had to buy her this cute dress.She got so many compliments from a lot of the customers who were shopping around.Mostly because of her blue eyes.Secondly because of her overall cuteness.

Last Sept 20,we (Tink and I ) went to our first puppy training class.Yes,we enrolled in a puppy training class also in PetSmart.It is an eight week class and we picked the Wednesday 10am session.It is a class for puppies so they can learn basic commands at an early age like the sit,stay,stop,come etc.Really it's a class for puppy owners so we willl know how to help our dogs become an obedient companion.The dogs in return will learn how to obey the said commands.I am enjoying everything I think.

Also,I am happy to mention here that *tink* is doing very good with the potty training.She now knows where to "poop" and "pee".Most of the time I dont even have to clean up spills from outside the pee pad.Cleaning part is getting better and better as nowadays all I had to do was just to toss out the soiled pee pads on the trash can.I feel a sense of accomplishment here as before I had to clean up even if she would go on the spot because oftentimes before, she would miss the pad actually.But now she is doing an almost perfect job by doing her "business" right on the spot,which is inside the pee pad.

When it comes to eating,I dont have any problem with her as she eats everything. Shih Tzus are not hard to please at all I guess.She eats well too.

She also had completed all of her vaccines already.Including the rabbies vaccine.I am still regularly deworming her though.

Right now,she's been regularly following me around the house everywhere in everything I do.She is right this moment in my lap as I am typing this entry.Now I understand why every dog owner especially shih tzu owners are happy and proud of their pets.These are cool and loving companions.They also blend well with children most importantly coz my daughter Aubrey is also very fond of my sister's Fishnet (also a shih tzu of course).Aubrey is already excited to meet *tink*.She's seen a lot of Tink's pics.

Went to Big E last Sunday,September 17 and I had a great time.I feel like time was not just enough coz there was so much to do and so much fun and so much food over there.It was my first time actually.

Big E is like a fair that was held in Springfield,MA.I dont know what it stands for though he he he.But it's a celebration of all New England states like Massachussets, Rhode Island, Connecticut, Vermont, New Hampshire & Maine as well I believe.So it was a fun celebration.They also showcase the said states pride and beauty like Ben & Jerry's for Vermont.I am bias here coz i only checked out Vermont since I love Vermont a lot!

There's gonna be concerts too from time to time for its two week run.And did i mention about the old vintage cars that i saw!?!Those were amazing.Cars as old as 1920's and they are still up and running and those cars are still owned/driven by MA & CT residents most of them.Wow!!!

There was just so much fun.The bigggest fair Ive ever been!Wait....this is the very first fair Ive ever been here in the United States yay!Well,it is something grand coz it is a New England affair so it's all worth it.And my ticket only costs $10.I got a $5 discount through an advance purchase from Big Y Supermarket!And Ive got plenty of pics too which I will share in a few days from now...especially those oldies cars!Okay gotta go as I have to get ready for work now.

Thirteen Things I like about Myself

1. I am a mom...A mom who loves her daughter so much.A mother who wants nothing but the best for my daughter.My daughter Aubrey is my inspiration.She is the reason for everything and why life is worth living.

2. I like my being a nurse.For I touch a lot of people's lives.I am appreciated for taking care of the sick.And i know that deep within me is my longtime dream of being that somebody who takes care of the sick.There's more beyond nursing...When people remember you for things you've done for them during their lowest moments...When they give you a hug before they go home telling you that you've been a big instrument to their fast recovery...It touches your heart...It gives me a smile..I cannot imagine myself in any other profession..My job is not a glamorous one but that's the truth,i like my being a nurse.I love my job and my patients can tell that it really shows.

3. I like my hair period.I have to include this in my list because I like the fact that I have a reasonably long hair now which sits just above my waist.It's long and straight.Silky and soft.No split ends.Just plain good looking hair.

4. I like my height.I am 5'5".Not that tall yet not petite.Just right and for somebody who comes from Asia (Philippines that is),I am quite tall actually *wink*

5. I am a fast learner and I can easily adapt to any given situation.I've proven that especially now that I am a traveler Nurse.With two to three days of orientation,Ive been going with the flow like a pro..And i love the fact that I am gaining a lot of friends thru what I'm doing right now actually.

6. I am patient.

7. I am an organize person.Especially while at work.I have a system to get things done.That way,i get to manage my time effectively and wont leave anything behind for the next shift.(nothing intentional and/or the next shift WONT hear any worthless excuses from me if ever..it must be for a good real reason if ever i might leave something for them)

8. I dance.That's one thing about me that made my school life memorable.Especially when I was in college.I would still love to dance if given the chance.

9. I love my legs.Especially when I was younger..I always get compliments about my legs.

10. I am smart.Just simply smart.Oh yeah,I believe I am!

11. I have soft heart and would always lend a helping hand to people who needs my help.I share my blessings.I am not rich because I dont even have a fat savings account as most people probably have but I do share what I have.Not only to people close to my heart.....

12. I am on the road to my goal weight.And I am proud and happy.Slowly but surely.I havent step backwards.Dropping a pound each time.I almost thought before that my weight was irreversible.

13. Rest Day...(Yehey)

Am not working today,it's rest time for me.I finally get to have two consecutive days off since it's my weekend off actually.My first time to have two consecutive days off since I started working in this hospital for this assignment.My schedule (3pm to 11pm 5x a week) is still kinda awkward for me since I am used to just working 3x a week for 12 hours each.

Anyway,the highlight of my day aside from my laundry is giving *Tink* a good bath followed by tons/lots of fun/playtime.Am sharing a pic below of her wearing a flower bow( her 1st time to wear one and my 1st time to put one as well so bear with the outcome ^_^).

Thirteen Things about ME these past few days

1.I am not too happy with the place where I am right now.I am on my second week here at my current new travel assignment.That's why I am not even mentioning anything about it here in my blog because there's nothing worth mentioning anyway.

2. This place is very far from the very peaceful Vermont where i've been for the past 13 weeks.if only I could stay longer there till winter.

3. This place is too much of a city.People are not as friendly as the Vermonters.There's nothing to do here so i hope nobody's thinking that i could be in NYC because I love NYC.That's probably the only city-life worth living for me at least.

4. On the road,it's more stressful driving to work than being at work!Drivers are colorblind and some are blind even!

5. They see the RED light as GREEN!They dont know the meaning of speed limit here.They're pretending i guess not to know the meaning of those digits that they see on the road signs for the suppose-to-be speed limit.***gosh***

6. A lot of drivers are doing some multi-tasking WHILE driving!They think their car is the extension of their house that they eat their breakfast,DRINK their coffee,put on their make-up etc.Saw some writing/jotting down notes...And those are scenarios i see on the highway..not on a stop light..I wont be surprise if i see somebody one of these days brushing his teeth!

7. I am now working evening shift which is 3pm to 11pm.That is five days a week compared to my used-to-be very convenient schedule of working 12 hours(7pm to 7 am) for three nights per week.((but i think i'll be fine))

8. I am not so happy because i just found out a BIG ERROR on my paycheck!!i cannot afford such a big error on my paycheck!I called my recruiter,she didnt give me a straightforward answer but told me she was gonna call me back suppose to be before 3pm yesterday since i was working at 3pm.of course,i didnt get her call that's why im still awake at this time.Just sent her a very straightforward email about my BIG concern about such a HUGE ERROR!

9. My laptop crashed!!!I could not believe it's happening.I brought it to Best Buy earlier today to have the Geek Squad perform diagnostics which could probably take 2 days at least.Oh!And the diagnostics alone cost $69.I am one customer who does not avail of those service warranty that they offer on electronics coz i always thought that i take good care of my stuff well enough that the chances of them going wrong in the next 3 to 5 years is very minimal...I guess not in the case of this laptop.I love my laptop.It took me years to decide before shifting into a notebook from a desktop and then it took me months to choose till i finally decide on the one that just crashed!

10. I havent had the time lately for my other hobby which is scrapbooking.I am still so much into it that I am excited actually coz now I have *Tink* as my new subject for those cute puppy pages.But.it's just that i didn't had the time as I am busy with my puppy.Am enjoying her and at the same time I am still in the process of getting the hang of it.I am still trying to establish routine to incorporate my pet into my daily activities.

11. I am also in the process of finding a veterinarian as well as a groomer for her.I am thinking of enrolling in a pet education class too.But whatever,im enjoying this.

12. Am so glad and happy that my sister has finally gotten the chance to learn how to send me pictures through email with the use of my old Canon digital camera...Actually,it's not that old coz it's less than a year old.I just decided to buy another one so i can send that camera over to them so they can always send me pictures of my daughter all the time;even everyday!

13. Lastly,if you've notice that i didn't mention the place where I am right now for my current assignment.It's because,as i've said in my list number one.I AM NOT HAPPY TO BE HERE.It's a good thing I have *Tink* who always brighten my day.(aside from my daughter of course who is miles away from me but still she brightens my day and make my heart smile just thinking of her)

Tink Training in progress...

Potty Training is in progress and Im very proud to say that my Tink is almost potty trained now.Almost i said because she knows exactly where the spot is but after turning around and round the pee pad,she sometimes would miss it by smallest than a quarter of an inch.But most of the times,she hit just the right spot which is the center of the pee pad.But the important thing here is that she knows where to do it.

Eating wise,she is eating good.She enjoys short walk outside.Grooming wise,i am in the process of orienting her to her coat's brush as she was not really comfortable being brushed the first few days.But today is better since she allowed me to brush her coat the entire time to my hearts content.I love her coat.She is so fluffy and soft and like a stuff toy!

She has a cologne too huh by the way.I am so glad ive decided to have a pet.I actually want another shih tzu.((Huh))They are the sweetest breed i think.They're the perfect pet.They warm your heart and put a smile on your face after a hard day's work.She keeps my mind off from not so important matters so i can focus on things that really matters.

For anyone thinking of getting a pet,think of getting a puppy.You won't regret it.Choose wisely,choose which breed suits you.But my shih tzu suits everyone!It is also worth mentioning here that a Havanese is also a good breed.They are so gentle and affectionate!They seldom bark too so it's also a good choice for a pet.Although they are not so popular here in the US yet so expect them to be a little bit on the expensive side.But they are AKC recognized already.Havanese are from the Bichon Frise family which is also another wonderful breed.But Bichon comes in white only i think.These are the top 3 breeds that i considered when i was doing my research.But of course,I ended up with a lovable Shih Tzu.I almost considered the Maltese at some point but scratched her off from my list after reading that they bark a lot.But they too are sooo cute and tiny if I am not mistaken,they belong to the toy group of the dog breeds.

There you go....I had my little warning here that i might...*might* get another Shih Tzu..I will later,one day dwell on the reason why, if EVER.. i might end up with another one.But I already have a plan..A good plan...

I am also planning to create another blog for her so I can keep track of her growth progress..

Meet FishNet from Philippines!

And of course,i am also happy to share a picture of my daughter Aubrey with *FishNet*...Fishnet is a male Shih Tzu owned by my sister April and a loving playmate to my baby girl back home.

His color is almost similar to my Tink if one would take a closer look.I didnt really notice it until i took several pictures of Tink.I used to search online for a puppy with a shade of chocolate/tan/white but i couldnt resist my Tink's eye when I saw her at MetroPuppies in New York!Among the many puppies there,she was the one who caught my eyes and attention.There was also another female Shih Tzu older than Tink who was trying to catch my attention and kept on coming towards me and as far as i can remember,she is just as adorable but my heart went to Tink.Felt like we develop some sort of unspoken connection/bonding at that time.And so i signed for her papers and off i went as a happy girl with a sweet and jolly puppy!

Thirteen GOOD & Not-So-GoOd Things/tHoughts and whatevers

1. I am all set up for my next travel assignment to another state.I love Vermont but staying in this hospital is too risky for my precious license.The hospital is good but the staffing is really really bad...Unbelievable!
2. My sister is getting married in December and I still haven't purchase an airline ticket yet.Dont know why really?
3. Seriously,I feel like I don't wanna go back to Florida yet.Or let me say,I feel like i want a life outside Florida.If I am to elaborate about this,I will be needing another post so I can gather my thoughts about this matter.
4. I am thinking of getting a puppy but I don't know which breed.I've narrowed down my search into three which are:the shih tzu;the bichon frise;& the havanese.Anybody here on T13 who knows anything about these breeds and where to get them.Any tip will be appreciated coz this will be my first puppy ever!
5. Budget nowadays is really really tight for me but im hoping its gonna get better in the next months to come as I am adjusting again with the payment plan for my new car.
6. I just realized that I haven't opened my laptop for the past two weeks because of too much stuff that I've been doing.>>Ugh<< I was checking my email @ work and that was it...
7. Also,my usual 3 to 4x a week trip to gym in my desire ever to lose the extra kilos I've gained had gone down to 1 to 2x a week.=not good!=
8. My diet has gone wild as well..I don't wanna elaborate.I don't even wanna think about my recent food trips...^=^ what would one expect after I've had a fun factory tour @ Ben & Jerry's Ice Cream plus a sidetrip to a chocolate factory here in Vermont.(((Yummy Yummy Yum I'm telling you))
9. As I am in the process of packing up my stuff.I realized I have lots of them.Like,I found out I have 1 to 2 pcs of lipgloss in each bag I have.Now,bags that I have is another story.I am crazy about bags since way way way back.I even have some bags that I haven't used yet!Plus,I didn't know I have lotion in every corner of the house.And wait!Why do I have two printers here?((enough enough))
10. Now this is really not fun,but I've learned a good lesson from my being a Travel Nurse.To know the hospital protocol about CODES==Cardiac Arrest,that is===.Again,I don't wanna elaborate but I just had the lousiest code ever last night!All nurses who were manning the house are all travelers!Pretty scary for you guys huh but I don't wanna elaborate...okay okay...Lets put it this way...No matter how one knows her stuff if you don't know your equipment then its a real chaos!!!No joke for a patient so seriously ill.And for one doctor to be pointing his fingers to the nurses for apparently "wasting 5 minutes trying" to figure out how to work the defibrillator?????Excuse me doctor....You were the one who asked for the 'scissors'?nah..Forget about it...And to blame others?That's so unprofessional!That's why the Attending Physician was oh so upset with the said resident doctor who in turn pointed his fingers to the four of us.I think I will make this scenario as my next TT entry since there's probably more than 13 things that went wrong since from the beginning of my shift that's why we ended up coding this poor lady at 0230 in the morning.I am so sad this lady died.She wasn't my patient by the way but I checked on her several times because she was going bad!>>>ugh<<<
11. Last Sunday after getting off from work @ 0800 am.I only slept for two hours because I made an appointment with somebody who posted her ad on the paper about a shih tzu that she was selling.We agreed that I am gonna check out the puppies Sunday.So,after an hour drive from my place,nobody was in their house but all the dogs in the yard._sigh_ that shih tzu is not for me I guess_
12. I haven't had the time for my other hobby because of all of this..++I miss scrapbooking++
13. Lastly I want a pet so bad.I've decide actually on getting a shih tzu,so anybody out there who can help me out?In whatever way of help is very much appreciated...Like tips on caring for my future puppy..Basic dog essentials that I need to buy ...How to train them or any tips and infos you can give me is fine.Most especially if you know where I could get one...A female shih tzu!

1. Finalize my next travel assignment.
2. Follow-Up Appointment for my contact lens prescription.I cancelled it twice already which is not good i know.
3. Have to send some stuff to the Philippines for my Aubrey's birthday on July 31st
4. Have to go to NISSAN to discuss more about their offer re:my vehicle.It sounded like a good offer over the phone.Seemed they wanted me to trade my vehicle.Im kinda interested but im thinking it might be a lot of work since I still carry a FL license and plate and i dont know the ins and outs really in that situation.
5. I have to send some of my stuff to my aunt in Florida.Ive go too many stuff.I still cant figure out (?why?)
6. I have to go to NYC!Just to shop around...huh?more stuff it means??
7. I have to mail out a check to my Credit Union Account in Florida.
8. Start packing up my stuff since my contract here in Vermont is almost over.Contract ends on Aug 6th so they'll probably give me about 3 more additional days to pack up.
9. I have to work on my license for my next assignment.I had a phone interview earlier with the nurse manager from a hospital somewhere here in the East Coast but found out she needs somebody who can do a Day/Night Rotation.I went ahead with the interview anyway and she was pretty too clinical.Asked me a lot of clinical stuff like what would i do if my patient goes....what would i expect for a patient who underwent whatever....what would i suspect if i find out that my patient is..I believed i was able to answer her questions with the answers she was expecting from me.But i would really be happier with a purely night shift assignment.
10. Ive got to visit the Vermont Teddy Bear Factory!Its a must see on my list here in Vermont.
11. Ben and Jerry's Factory.its another must-see for me.
12. Gotta go back to Montreal,Canada too.Huh?Im 30 minutes away from the Canadian border.Ive been to Montreal already and i really like it.Quebec is also a fun place to see.
13. Have to buy new sets of uniform and a new stethoscope.I deserve it i believe coz i still use my uniform from Mt Sinai Medical Center in Florida which is plain teal.All travel RN's get to use fancy colored printed scrubs.I feel like im the only one who's stucked with my old plain uniform.Didnt really bother me but if i get the chance to go to a uniform store why not right?

++Strike...Strike...++

In one of these days,there is this rumor that the hospital where Im working is gonna go on a strike any moment.Apparently,the deadline is this week and they still hasn't come up to an agreement so there might be a "strike".

Well,as for me.I am a traveller nurse so my stand is if Im scheduled to work,i will work but if it's my precious day off from work and they will call me to report..i won't come.Heard pay is "good"..hmmm...they say like about $70+ an hour!Whoa!But i won't risk my hard-earned license(s).Pay will be good but load will be ((double))...that spells ((trouble))...Nah!Nah!It's not gonna be that easy i bet because i am working in no easy area which is Cardio-Thoracic so I will just scrapbook @ home*wink*

And another thing..if Im scheduled to work..Im working this coming Mon,Tue & Wed nights so if they're gonna strike any of those days...how am i gonna cross the barricades?!?Never done such...Ugh.I'm worrying too much..Ive just got to prepare myself for work as scheduled period.

Nurse Story

This week is kinda lax for me..well after my bday i should say because i am again in my transition period of processing my next assignment.My contract here in Fletcher Allen Health Care will end on August 6.I am not really being picky because if i dont wanna do some more interview with another prospective manager i could just renew my contract here..My current manager gave me a quick phone call 11 days ago and left me a message saying that she would be happy if i am to extend another contract.But there are a lot of things to consider.This is a good hospital but ive had some "crazy" unusual nights here.

i am working in a Cardio-Thoracic Unit..working with patients who underwent open-heart surgeries usually...with their medication drips,monitoring and chest tubes in place..and apparently the nurse:patient ratio is suppose to be 1:4 (that is,1 nurse w/ 4 patients).I am fine with that..Most of the time they are usually good with the staffing but there was one night(1 night only so far but im not really looking forward for another one!) when i had seven...7 patients under my precious hands.Handled the situation just the way any other nurse would handle i guess..what i mean is,i went ahead and work.i didn't fuzz around because it was in the middle of the night.I wouldnt fuzz around because i felt it was a situation i have to handle well coz if i will just open my mouth it will be for nothing..it will be left unheard anyway,so i chose to go ahead and do my job.I love my job.And i said to myself that these 7patients deserve the same amount,quality of care that i can give to my usual load of 4patients.And off i worked..

Morning came and i was exhausted.One of my patients told me i looked "tired"..and asked me if i had a busy night.Told her it was a busy but uneventful night for me...She asked further how many patients were there on the floor, told her census was 19 then she figured out there were only 3nurses for the night and came to the conclusion that if there were 19 patients with 3 nurses;One must have had seven...She of course learned i was the one who had seven..

Now,on top of her shocked she told me that i did a good job..i will quote her and this is exactly how she reacted:"You must be kidding me!?!Coz i actually felt like i was really taken cared of very well the whole night.You did a wonderful job and i thank you so much for the care that you've given me.You are a great instrument to my recovery".

Thank You..That's the reward of being a nurse i believe.Being appreciated...

I just missed Thurday Thirteen...I couldnt believe it that i couldn't post my entry so am really sad..Im so sorry my fellow thursday thirteeeners..I couldnt post an entry...im typing this entry anyway hoping its gonna go through..My other entry about what's keeping me busy that's why "im suppose to be" a latecomer for the TT is not going thru as well.So i dont know how to get things together...

i think i am getting fed up with BLOGGER.I think im gonna switch.But im clueless as to which one out there is more reliable than blogger.This is so frustrating coz i didnt think about doing that before i even attempted to have somebody design my template which i really love.And what is so frustrating is that the one who designed my blog just "retired" from designing blogs so she could concentrate i believe on some other stuff which she has been neglecting maybe as a result of dressing up too many blogs.So that means i would have to find someone again to design my would-be new blog.Again..my big question is..what else is out there aside from blogger?Ive heard of blogsome...blogdrive...iblogs and the likes...How are they?I cannot log in to my newly created blogdrive account so i really dont know because as early as this time that i just signed up and they are already giving me big question mark on my head..*sigh*

My next question is,anybody out there knows of someone who offer services for a blog redesign?Sugestions are welcome please...*wink* *wink*

p.s. this bday list is just for fun as i dont really have a serious worldy(a.k.a. materialistic) birthday wish since i believe i am blessed by God with more than what i wished for as a child.I am seriously thankful I am 31.

Green Mountain Chew Chew

After a few hours of sleep (from 930am to 1230 pm...ehem ehem..i worked last night from 7pm to 730 am *wink*),i started my day by going to the Chew Chew Festival.And it was so much fun!!!This is one of the reasons why i love Vermont because there is so much fun stuff to do here!Almost every week they have a festival of some sort.Not too long ago they had the hot air balloon ride festival which is so expensive for me so i just tried the tether ride.Anyway,didn't get there on time because flight times are only 6am and 6pm and got there at around 630 pm.Had the chance to see the balloons while they were on air though and they are posted here on my June 3 post for this blog.Plus i had fun spending some time at the fair during the festival to which I've seen a real life MERRY-GO-ROUND.It was so funny you will realize in the pictures from the slide show that those are actually real horses that they were using for the merry-go-round ride!

Also last weekend..was not interested with it at that time but they had a Father's Day Fishing Festival too for the father's day celebration and i was surprised when it came out later in the papers that the prize for the biggest catch was actually $35,000.

So much story for now as i believe that there is more to come!Will keep on sharing my adventures whenever i get the chance to just like now that i am waiting for my laundry actually and i believe it's almost done so gotta go friends!

Had a luxurious "Jim Dandy" ice cream from Friendly's earlier after an hour of window shopping @ my favorite place,BestBuy!i have to skip dinner then;jim dandy is a bountiful mix of 5 scoops of ice cream with two slices of banana!it's not banana split ok?because banana split has three scoops so i guess Jim Dandy is the bigger version of banana split.Anyway,before Best Buy also spent about an hour @ another favorite place of mine which is the Scrapbook Store nearby.Bought some pretty,cool pages which i will be using later on.My next agenda for the night of course is to sweat it out again for the 3rd time this week at Planet Fitness.I feel productive today ha ha ha.walang aangal jan?!?

My 2 to 3x a week trip to the gym is slowly paying off.(keeping my fingers crossed).I am shedding off the pounds and am proud to say that i was 16 lbs heavier 8 months ago.Yes!Heard it right!I lost 16 lbs the last 8 months.Could not believe i was that heavy since i still find myself right now to be on the heavy side of the road.BUT BUT BUT..I am now a size MEDIUM.Yes madam,a size medium!oh yes...it seems like yesterday... check out the difference!
