My next assignment

My next travel assignment will be in the state of Vermont.I was not familiar with this state at all not until ive heard of a job offer from my recruiter.Well, since the offer is good enough anyway especially for the coming season,i am gonna give it a shot.I know because that's according to the veteran travel RN's and according to my recruiter too.Apparently, they dont get as much job postings for spring time than during fall or winter seasons.

I visited the Vermont state website actually and i fell in love with the place.ehem, actually went there a few days ago, last wednesday to be exact to get a license. The board of nursing is in Montpelier. On the way to Vermont itelf is so scenic..the mountains, the clouds, the trees..nature in itself actually speaks for itself...that nothing really compares to natural beauty.Truly God is the greatest architect of all times...oh yes, that's exactly what i was thinking while on the road. And so comes my excitement...

I wanna experience their famous "hot air balloon ride"!!!that must be fun and exciting plus a real once in a lifetime experience.A filipina co-worker here in Yale was actually talking about kayaking...i dunno if my spelling is correct but am sure everyone knows what im talking about.kayaking?me?i dont think so!i would rather ride a roller coaster!?!Cant imagine myself with that.ha ha ha..i am fine with the hot air balloon ride.im really looking forward to that!.and oh,she was also telling me or rather suggesting "skydiving"...Ugh!She hasnt done it yet apparently but its in the planning stage daw.The first six dives would be with somebody anyway, she says...That one would really be a big NO NO NO for me.But I would be happy to watch her do that I said.he he he.All of these exciting thrilling adventures that i just mentioned are all part of Vermont's attraction so just imagine how beautiful this state is?But again,i am only looking forward of doing the hot air balloon ride.no more than that like kayaking or skydiving....but again i would be happy to watch them do those.id be an eager and happy expectator na lang..

Silent Hill

"A woman named Rose, desperate to find her child Sharon, finds herself trapped in an alternate dimension as she searches for her daughter in a world of decay inhabited by strange beings. Over the protests of her husband, she flees with her child, heading for an abandoned town to which the child seems drawn. Sharon disappears in the town, and Rose follows what she thinks is her daughter's silhouette into what seems like an alternate reality. It's soon clear this place is not like anywhere she's ever been. It's smothered by fog, inhabited by a variety of strange beings and periodically overcome by a living Darkness that literally transforms everything it touches. Joined by Cybil, a local police officer, Rose searches for her little girl while learning the history of the strange town and realizing that Sharon is just a pawn in a larger game."

Just saw this movie earlier and this is really far better than the last horror movie ive seen.im referring to the recently released horror movie to which the title i already forgot but also has the word "hill" on it.Its obvious I didn't like it because i couldn't even remember its title. But this Silent Hill movie is good.Even though I havent seen it as a game.I dont have any game player to play with anyway plus I wont have the time you bet.

Another horror movie that is worth waiting and watching i hope is "the omen".I have seen all Omens from part one to part 5 i think.Well not in the movies because i believe it was shown during the 70's.Ive seen it in VCD.Anyway, that's another movie i will be keeping an eye on.

My Values(?)
Your Values Profile

Loyalty:

You value loyalty a fair amount.
You're loyal to your friends... to a point.
But if they cross you, you will reconsider your loyalties.
Staying true to others is important to you, but you also stay true to yourself.

Honesty:

You don't really value honesty.
You do value getting your way, no matter what.
And if a little lying is required to do that, no problem.
A few white lies never hurt anyone (at least, that's what you tell yourself!)

Generosity:

You value generosity a fair amount.
You are all about giving, as long as there's some give and take.
Supportive and kind, you don't mind helping out a friend in need.
But you know when you've given too much. You have no problem saying "no"!

Humility:

You value humility a fair amount.
You tend to be an easy going, humble person.
But occasionally your ego takes over.
You have a slight competitive streak - and the need to be the best.

Tolerance:

You value tolerance a fair amount.
You are open to new cultures, beliefs, and ideas.
You have very few prejudices that you're aware of.
And while you are tolerant, you do stand true to what you believe.

i wanna Take the Lead!

"Pierre Dulaine is a Manhattan ballroom teacher and competitor who volunteers his time to teach ballroom dancing to a group of New York inner city high school kids. Initially forced to participate as a form of detention, the kids reject Mr. Dulaine's efforts until his unwavering commitment and dedication finally inspires them to embrace the program, infusing it with their own unique hip-hop style while subconsciously learning valuable life lessons about pride, respect, self-esteem and honor."

Oohh!I love this movie!I feel like dancing again..like to really really dance again!Im thinking of enrolling in a class once I get back in shape.I believe I am slowly getting there, just take a look at how much weight i lost with my ticker at the top of this blog?!...See,with the right weight and shape,i strongly believe i can dance again like i used to when i was in school..high school and especially college days!I am so excited....

The Hills Have Eyes

"A family road trip goes terrifyingly awry when the travelers become stranded in a government atomic zone. Miles from nowhere, the Carters soon realize the seemingly uninhabited wasteland is actually the breeding ground of a blood-thirsty mutant family...and they are the prey. "

I didnt like it that much..There's no other movie that was appealing to my taste so just settled for this one...Im just gonna look forward to "Silent Hill".

Needlestick on the job!
Last night wasn't just another ordinary busy night for me.The usual busy scenario case isn't what Im talking about. At the end of my shift, meaning it was literally 0700 am.I was still in one of my patient's room.I put another IV access on this patient.Another because they ordered for two IV sites, huh?I went into the vein, got in,back flow was good, flushed it,went fine, taped it!Now that's not the end of my story because as I was gathering my mess,i stucked myself with the contaminated needle!Damn?!?I wasnt able to retract the needle all the way turned out!i didnt see any mark on my left index finger because it stucked with my gloves still on.It was when i squeezed the said finger that i realized that i was really stucked!Almost fainted!I got so worried and the anxious part of me is now escalating!I notified the proper authorities, and I was immediately sent to ED!Was able to do a quick check on that patient's lab results on the computer though and was relieved to find out that his Hepatitis panel was negative! So off i went to ED to which I was re-routed to Occupational Health Services for a quicker service.

Patient is apparently low-risk since he's an elderly patient,a 74 y/o chinese male.He doesnt speak english at all.He grew up in China. He is in the hospital for vt/vf arrest,in the ICU was intubated and then extubated after 3 or 4 days and was then transferred to our floor, which is a stepdown telemetry floor.Anyway,at the Occupational Health, my blood was drawn. They added the HIV test to the patient's am labs anyway for my sake since they cannot consent him right away because of language barrier,he speaks purely chinese.

I was told that they will call me with the results of the patient's HIV test after an hour.Im telling you, that was the longest one hour ive ever had!

Got relief after receiving a call one hour and forty-five minutes later that Im all set because the patient is negative! So there you go!

So to all nurses, healthcare workers out there, please be careful because its no joke being in that situation. You dont have to experience such serious instance for you to understand how im feeling coz i know you all know what im talking about.Im sure most of you can relate...if it happened to me and perhaps to some of you,it could happen to anyone or it could happen to me again! So lets all be careful ok folks?

The Meltdown

"The Ice Age is coming to an end, and the animals are delighting in the melting paradise that is their new world. Manny, Sid, and Diego quickly learn that the warming climate has one major drawback: a huge glacial dam is about to break, threatening the entire valley. The only chance of survival lies at the other end of the valley. So the three heroes, along with a mammoth named Ellie and her two "brothers" -- possums Crash and Eddie -- embark on a mission across an increasingly dangerous landscape towards their salvation"
A great movie for kids and for kids at heart like me!..
